What To Wear After Lockdown

The end of Covid life is finally in sight and a return to normal living is on the horizon at last!

With the last eighteen months confining us to the four walls of our homes, the pandemic has taken its toll on our lives and our bodies. A change that went largely undetected thanks to living in loungewear for so long; I mean, can you even remember the last time you wore a pair of jeans? Me neither.

The majority of us do not have the same body that we ended 2019 with; I definitely need to shift 3kg at least. With life without constrictions within touching distance, what do we wear for our post-lockdown physiques? It’s not just about accommodating the lockdown stone, our attitudes to dressing have changed. Comfort is key and there is a notable shift away from stifling workwear. Whether for work or off duty, here are three of my favourite outfits for life post lockdown.

I love neutral tones and this outfit is a stunning, classic casual ensemble. Wide leg and elasticated waists are my new best friend. These trousers are super comfortable and the cut is extremely flattering. Paired with a cream coloured duster jacket, it looks so glamorous dressed up or down. My favourite shoe to wear with this outfit though are my white Puma basket trainers. A simple white top and bag complete the look and give it a fresh feel.

This pussybow blouse from Forever Unique is one of my go-to pieces to wear for work. It’s gorgeous leopard and baroque print set against the most beautiful shade of dove grey, is lovely and loose covering a multitude of sins. The waterfall hemline gives the illusion of length making me look taller, which I really need being just 5ft 2″. My favourite way to style this shirt is with comfy black leggings and over the knee black boots for some added sass.

Dressing up for going out looks very different these days. Long gone are my slinky outfits – well, for now at least until I can squeeze myself back into them. This zebra print maxi dress is just perfect for after work drinks and girly brunch dates. It’s so floaty and the simple tie around the waist lets you adjust to achieve the ideal level of comfort – I tend to let mine out a bit if I’ve been out for dinner and need to hide the expansion! Some gorgeous bright statement jewellery add a stunning pop of colour and a black leather jacket for adding a bit of edge.
