It’s always exciting when a new venue opens up in your local area; even more so when it is something you would expect to find in a city centre. The Florist is a chain of three restaurants in Liverpool, Bristol and now Watford. With its distinctive décor and floral charm gracing everything from the interior design to the artisan cocktails, The Florist would not look out of place in the Mews of Mayfair.
Just one glance at my social media shows how much I love flowers and eating out, there is no shortage of peony photos on my feeds, so combining pretty flowers and restaurants together is a recipe made for me. With fragrant cocktails decorated with flowers, neon lights, pink blossom trees and flowers to rival the Chelsea Flower Show, The Florist has an incredibly instagrammable interior.
Its Asian inspired menu offers two different styles of dining; the classic starter, main and dessert; or a series of light bites. I chose to have a three course meal of:
Starter: Vegetable gyozas with lime & soy dip
Main Course: Corn fed chicken breast with sweetcorn puree, shiitake mushrooms & green beans
Dessert: White chocolate and lemongrass crème brulee
Of course the shining star of the restaurant and bar are its incredible cocktails. You cannot visit The Florist and just have one cocktail. The cocktail of the moment is of course the Pornstar so that was the natural drink to start with. The best cocktail of the evening, and the prettiest, was the Raspberry Rose Sour. With red berry vodka, pear and rose petal liqueur, cranberry and lemon juice; this drink has the most gorgeous rose flavoured Turkish delight taste and is complete with a pink candyfloss style finish.
I am so delighted to have a place like this on my doorstep and will be going back to dine under pink trees again.
Amazing 😉 xx
